The first thing to do is to check in with http://dawelcomewagon.deviantart.com/ as they have a lot of tips for new people such as yourself. They have a lot to get you started. I am going to show you a few tips on getting started.
Another way to get started is to pop into The Welcome Chat Room at http://chat.deviantart.com/chat/welcome
I personally do not like chat rooms that I don't know.

You may be browsing random deviant artwork and you may like an artwork and you my want to make it a favorite; to do this, go to the bottom right corner of an artwork and click on the star then cli
